Stone Age

Well , at long last here is: our BLOG about our Stone Age visitors. We didn't do it last week as we didn't want to spoil the surprise for Mr Atherton's class on Tuesday. Then the week just ran away with us! We really enjoyed our visit from Mrs and Mrs Trevor. It was weird to think that we were touching artefacts that came from deep under the ground, in the layers of history. We produced some fabulous sketches of spears and spear heads. Come and look at our display to see them. The highlight of the afternoon was when Mr Trevor dressed up in full Stone Age costume. Did you know that Stone Age people didn't wear loin cloths in England, as it was too cold. They actually wore sewn together clothes made of animal skins and fur. They sewed with bone needles. We also found out that the Stone Age was an incredibly long time in history compared to the time we live in now. If all history was a metre stick, the Stone Age would be most of it and the time after the birth of Jesus would just be the last few cms! Imagine that! More photos going on our webpage soon.
