Our poetry!

Date: 7th Dec 2016 @ 12:43am

Congratulations to all the children on writing several poems over the last two weeks. We learnt about imagery, extended noun phrases, similes, metaphors and personification and sought to include these in our own poems. Whilst learning about Haikus, free form poetry, narrative poems, our topics ranged from Remembrance, weather, the Artic and also animal poems. Our final piece was based on our talk for writing on the poem Silver by Walter De La Mare. We had some lovely compositions and were proud to name Amelie as writer of the week.

The children had several opportunities to perform their own poems infront of the class. Particularly well done to Elise, Lewis and George for their wonderful intonation and expression when reading the poetry! A huge well done to everyone else too for their contributions reading aloud to the class!
